Activities

A large number of new families are Polish, people who really value the welcome, friendship and support that Kathryn, Helen, Carol and Kath and others provide. Pray that all would encounter Jesus in who we are and in our conversations.

TV anyone? Furniture?

We continue to have items donated from time to time, for which we try to find a good home. If you have any unwanted items in good condition, (in or near Selby) why not call Richard and Kath. Whilst we do not want to further encourage a dependency culture, families have been really helped with goods they could not afford, and items bought on credit have been replaced - a step towards freedom from debt. Pray that as we work with other churches to provide Christmas presents they only go to families in real need, and we do not simply foster an unhealthy materialism.

Edge Allotment

We have just taken charge of our allotment and have been thrilled at how quickly local families have got involved. It is another great way we can make contact and build community locally. "We have dug and planted the front half, which is a great start!" says Alison. "Yet we find there is already community there, and have been impressed by the warmth of people's welcome." Give thanks for this new and further opportunity to build relationships and witness to the relationship we can have with God. Pray for good things to grow there!
